Zadar did
not have a chance as other Croatian towns to have its own Rotary
club in the first half of the 19th century. But, thanks to its members
and (its "godfather") Mr. Hrvoje Vrčić´s efforts supported
by RC Zagreb and RC Split, the first meeting of the preparatory
committee for establishing Rotary club Zadar was held in June 12th,
1988. In May 15th, 1999 a charter ceremony denoted the beginning
of the exsistence of Rotary club Zadar.
Nowadays the club has 23 members and as a member of the big Rotary
association that is going to celebrate hundredth anniversary of
its existence is active within the district 1910. Rotary clubs from
Slovenia, B&H, Hungary and eastern part of Austria belong to
this district, too.
